Besa Youth Education Project
The Besa Youth Education Project is dedicated to starting conversations among the students of our society in order to build bridges of understanding and tolerance bêtween various cultures and religions with much diversity in order to discover the common unity in our humanity.
The Eye Contact Foundation in partnership with Jewish and Muslim Organizations around the world has created the Besa Youth Education Project to open these conversations through the use of a multi-media presentation including: book, video documentary and photographic presentations, followed by a teacher’s lesson plan curriculum that asks pertinent questions designed to have the children question their deepest values and beliefs about other cultures.
By creating a safe and constructive forum to in which to open hearts and discuss personal feelings, beliefs, judgments, false perceptions and negative media portrayals amongst peers, the Besa Youth Project is taking the lessons of a small, unknown country, Albania and its humanitarian code of Besa and bringing it into the modern day world for all to be able to partake in.
